Primers

Mineral substrates needed to be stabilized before the top coat can be applied, while wooden substrate need additional protection against fungus development and other microbiological attacks. Several substrates also need protection to prevent the migration of substances from the substrate into the top coat. Special emulsions technology based on very fine particles is necessary to address such specific applications.

Mowilith® LDM 7667 is an alkali-resistant emulsion, designed specifically for high performance penetrating primers. Characterized by its very fine particle size, it is well suited for preparation of water-based primers used to impregnate or consolidate loose or underbound surfaces or to seal porous substrates, such as gypsum, concrete, fiber cement panels and wood. With a minimal film formation temperature (MFFT) of less than 5°C, it enables the formulation of penetrating primers that meet the most stringent environmental requirements for VOC emissions.

Mowilith® LDM 6159 is designed to meet the most stringent ecological standards, is characterized by a special chemical technology that enables the stain-blocking function, and by the absence of APEO. In addition, it has a minimal film formation temperature (MFFT) of 0°C, which allows a drastic reduction in VOC levels in the primer.
